farmer focused
Innovation in Agronomy is an agricultural research program funded and guided by grower members.
- Membership is $1/acre of cropland farmed and/or managed by grower.
- Grower membership fees are used to conduct local research based on needs of the group members.
- Research is conducted in replicated trials in small and large-scale projects with grower cooperators.
- Results are reported directly to growers at local, in-person meetings.
how it works
- Survey Members - Growers identify the most important agronomic questions for the coming season.
- Conduct Research - Alpha Ag Research will conduct and manage research to help answer those questions.
- Share Results - Alpha Ag Research will share results with grower members by hosting results meetings + booklet.
different than other programs
- Independent - Many retailer-based programs have incentive to produce data that support sales. The research in this program is objective, unbiased and fully independent of any sales influence.
- Focus on ROI - Return on investment is the focus. Yield is a component, but product cost and efficiency are equally important in improving profitability for your farm.
- Statistically Rigorous - Small plot and field scale trials are replicated and managed to produce high quality, statistically sound data, so you can be confident in the results.
- Innovative - Research focuses on new concepts, products, and ideas and test how well they work in our local environment and production system.
