Corey rozenboomCorey Rozenboom is the owner and Research Director of Alpha Ag Research. A 3rd generation farmer born and raised in Iowa, Corey enjoys all things outdoors. His passion is enjoying God's creation and the natural world by experiencing it hands-on. He has a B.A. in agriculture: plant science from Dordt University and M.S. in agronomy: plant breeding from Kansas State University. Corey's entire professional career has been in field testing and experimentation, serving both public and private sectors of agriculture.

Allen HubersAllen Hubers is the Research Manager for Alpha Ag Research and the 2026 NAICC Researcher of the Year. A North Carolina native, he has coordinated and managed field trials and consulting projects since 2004. Allen holds a B.A. in Agriculture: Plant Science from Dordt University and has dedicated his career to serving farmers and the agricultural industry through research. He enjoys the outdoors and time with his family, and serves as chairman of Farmer to Farmer: Nicaragua, a Christian ministry working to strengthen rural value chains, food security, and long-term farm sustainability in Nicaragua.

cheney vander bergCheney Vander Berg joined the Alpha Ag Research team in May of 2023 after graduating with a B.A. from Dordt University. He was born and raised in northwest Iowa and currently serves the team as a Field Research Specialist. Cheney enjoys all things outdoors, spending time with family, and woodworking. In addition to being involved in all field operations and direct oversight of several field research projects, Cheney also assists with workflow management, logistics, data collection and entry.

nolan buckholtzNolan Buckholtz joined Alpha Ag Research as an intern in 2025, where he gained experience in trial-focused field operations and supported consulting projects. A native of Amboy, Minnesota, he will graduate with a B.A. in Plant Science from Dordt University in May 2026 and will then join the Alpha team full-time as a Field Research Specialist.
Outside of work, Nolan enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends, performing in a band with his brother, and football—most notably at Dordt University, where he started at nose tackle during the 2025 season and helped lead the Defenders to a record year. |
Carlos AlegriaCarlos Alegria has been assisting the Alpha Ag Research program as a Field Research Technician since June 2023. His primary duties include field operations and maintenance. Carlos enjoys spending time with family and serving others with his amazing cooking skills.

John hoflandJohn Hofland is a 3rd generation farmer born and raised in northwest Iowa. As a highly skilled fabricator and full-time farmer, John assists Alpha Ag Research with several specialty design projects needed for field trial applications and data collection. His expertise in agriculture and shop work result from his passion for creativity and working with his hands. John enjoys being outdoors, farming and singing loudly when he thinks no one else is around.
